2017 Online Marketing Trends You Need To Know
Change is coming. Well, when has it not in the online marketing world? So many new apps, so many new social sites, so many changes to the current sites you’ve grown to use. (I’d like to say love, but for many, it’s not love, it is a necessity.) I want to help you make 2017 the year you optimize your online marketing. The year you say, “not only can I do this, but I will do this!”
The trends and what your business needs to be focusing on in 2017. (Just 2 things – to start.)
A Multichannel Strategy
Transparency? What on earth do I mean by this? Transparency helps you gain the trust of your audience. Do this by being open and sharing your failures or problems. Share what it’s like to do business with you. Consider sharing your financial picture. I know it may seem way out there, but if you are willing to share that, it will set you apart from your competition. Think about it this way, when comparing two like businesses, would you choose the one that showed you how the dollar you spend with them gets spent or the one who keeps it guarded and locked up like a secret recipe? Of course, it depends on if you like how you see it spent. But unless this is a nonprofit, their expenses are their problem, not yours. You will likely trust them more. And, if you’re not first, someone else will be there to grab up that business while you sit there holding onto your secret recipe.
In 2017, a multichannel strategy is having a mobile-friendly website, a blog, professional SEO (different than just adding keywords to your site), buying online advertisements, and having consistent social media posts on more than one social channel. Now’s not the time to go on in depth about each of these areas, however now is the time to recognize you need to plan for all these. Create a multichannel strategy and you will help your business stay top of mind, elevate exposure and reputation, and increase profits in 2017. Do only part and you will see your competition getting the leads.
One More Thing…
In addition to transparency and a multichannel strategy, also focus on building your email list. Build these off of your social networks. We never know what tomorrow will bring to a social network, and you don’t want to see your hard work go down the drain with the network, so get your audience to sign up for your email list.
So, now that I’ve got you revved up, when will you start your online marketing strategy for 2017?
