Holiday Marketing Planning Guide
Create a holiday marketing plan to set yourself apart from the red, green, and gold.
To make your business the most successful at this time of the year, here are a few things you can do right now. The following is a simple process to help you achieve it.
- Set an Objective & Marketing Goals
- Leverage Social Listening
- Create a Holiday Marketing Plan
Start with your objective…
When you set an objective for your marketing, it need not be what everyone else is doing. It needs to be yours, for your business, what you want to achieve. This will guide all of your 2016 holiday marketing plans. Once you have this one objective, set achievable goals.
For example, our objective is to elevate exposure & reputation for the Real Circles brand on social media. Our goals are to increase our share of voice by 2%, increase impressions by 30%, and increase positive sentiments by 20% on social media in December.
Leverage social listening…
to be inspired and brainstorm, know what will resonate with your audience, what hashtags are optimal, and which influencers you can partner with. Search for the holiday you are looking to create content for. What do you find? Use this to guide your plan. How can you be different? What inspires you to recreate? What inspires you to think outside of the box?
Create your 2016 holiday marketing plan…
Be sure to include your goals, audience breakdown, budget, timeline, and plan for measurement. Your audience breakdown defines your target audience. The timeline will map out when you will achieve each step in the process. Your measurement plan needs to set how you will measure your goals and when you will do this. Your plan itself can be mapped out as a simple spreadsheet with all the projects, due dates, and responsible team members. That’s it.
You are ready to begin and make this holiday season the best one yet!
